Mums, Pumpkins, Mendon Country Fair!

How wonderful the yard looks filled with Gorgeous Mums grown for us by Bob’s Greenhouses in Millis, and Fat pumpkins from Kelly’s in Upton. It’s up to all of us to buy local, I guess! I just divided, trimmed, and dressed up my home garden – and does it feel good. To encourage the rest of you, (Come’on, the Red Sox are disappointing us anyways), Nursery Shrubs and Trees are on a BIG SALE right now – 30% off!

Holiday Planning and Keeping in Touch

these rainy, cold days”. But, like many of you, I haven’t yet! So, I’ll encourage you with a

Keep a pile of leaves around, too, so when you are done, you can mulch those little Daffodil and Hyacinth Bulbs in for the Winter (and jump in it to celebrate)!

Bulbs Galore – A How-To Blueberry Ripple Tulip

Treat yourself to a beautiful spring while enjoying these last days of Autumn.
It’s easy!

Start by picking just 3 or 4 spots around the yard.
Each spot should be 1 Foot Square.
Using a Shovel, dig down 6 inches for Tulips, Daffodils, or Hyacinths - 4 inches for Crocus, Dwarf Iris (My favorite!), or Grape Hyacinth.That’s just one or two quick shovel-fuls!
Place 10 Bulbs in each Square Foot Area
Sprinkle in 1/2 cup Bulb-Tone or Bone Meal.
Place Bulbs about 2″ apart.
Replace Soil.
Water.
Relax, and Be Proud of Yourself in the Spring!
